Bio-energy project development

Currently the Raedthuys Group is developing a number of large-scale projects aimed at fermentation and incineration whereby the greatest possible use is made of waste materials. For fermentation, wet biomass is generally required while incineration mainly needs dry biomass.

The core of a successful bio-energy project rests principally on the availability of biomass, the heating requirements and a suitable location. The availability of the correct biomass on location is one of the most important aspects for the appropriate functioning of the installation. Good calorific value, quality, quantity and price over a longer term are factors determining the basis of a successful project. The Raedthuys Group – following the requirements laid down by Minister Cramer for the sustainability of biomass - also sets high requirements on the quality of the biomass. The type of biomass determines the type of technology opted for and thus also the project design of the installation.

In the development of all its bio-energy projects the Raedthuys Group works in close collaboration with the local and provincial authorities in applying for the studies and permits required.
